Nurse Practitioners (known also as Advanced Nurse Practitioners, or ANPs) are trained specialist nurses who have undertaken additional education in order to prescribe and carry out advanced nursing care. They can provide treatment and advice for many problems that would have historically been dealt with by a doctor. Please note that our ANPs can’t see pregnant women or children under 10 years of age.
Nurses work alongside the GPs to provide care for you. Nurses specialise in helping patients manage long-term conditions (such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension) and also help with minor injuries, family planning, vaccinations and health screening.
Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) are a valuable part of the nursing team and carry out a number of vital roles in the practice, including blood tests, health checks and performing ECGs.
