Repeat Prescriptions

If you have registered for online facilities, you can use EMIS Access to order repeat prescriptions. Alternatively, you can email us on

Requests for repeat prescriptions are not taken over the telephone (except for housebound patients). There is a request slip on the right hand side of your prescription that you need to complete before your next prescription is due.

All repeat prescription requests take 2 working days (Saturdays not included) to be processed and will be available after 16:00 on the second working day after being placed.

Monday requests will be ready Wednesday after 16:00
Tuesday requests will be ready Thursday after 16:00
Wednesday requests will be ready Friday after 16:00
Thursday requests will be ready Monday after 16:00
Friday requests will be ready Tuesday after 16:00

We would appreciate if patients do not call into surgery to collect prescriptions before 16:00.

It is important that you clearly tick the items you require. You may prefer to post your repeat prescription request to us enclosing a stamped, self-addressed envelope and then we can post your prescription back to you.

If you wish to deliver your request for a repeat prescription to the surgery there is a mail box in the foyer marked prescriptions which is opened regularly - this will save you time waiting at the reception desk. We have arrangements with some local chemists that will deliver prescriptions to the elderly or housebound - please ask at reception.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
